Riggins is the center of whitewater rafting, steelhead fishing, bass fishing, hunting, kayaking, jet-boating and sightseeing, with access to the Salmon River and the nearby Snake River which contains the famed Hells Canyon. Many of the outfitters that provide services on these rivers are based in Riggins.
The wildlife includes elk, mule, & white-tailed deer, bear, cougar, mountain goat & big-horn sheep. Birds of the area include wild turkey, hungarian partridge, chuckars, quail & grouse.
Steelhead, trout & small-mouth bass inhabit our rivers & streams.
